higher education program

Education is one of the most critical components of making a positive change in a young person’s life and creating sustainable change in the communities where they live and work. Through the Global Effect Education Program, young adults are provided opportunities they could only dream about in the past that empower them to break the cycle of poverty mentally, spiritually, socially, and economically.

We realized that the students who had the “right stuff” to be a positive role model and leader in their community had no financial resources or options to further their education beyond high school and obtain the knowledge base necessary to be a great leader in their community. This is why we started the Global Effect Education Program.

Leadership Academy

Picture
Students enter the Education Program by participating in our 36-week Leadership Academy that includes spiritual discipleship, leadership development, and soft skills training. This class is 3.5 hours every Saturday for an entire school year. Participants go through an application and interview process before being accepted into the program. We currently have 63 students in our Leadership Academy.

University

If students successfully complete the Leadership Academy, they become eligible to attend one of the top 5 private universities in the Dominican Republic or a technical school, in order to earn a professional degree or acquire a skilled trade so they can break the cycle of poverty. We currently have 112 students working hard to earn a professional degree or acquire a skilled trade.

Sponsorship

We rely on financial sponsorships from donors to scholarship the students attending the university. We have many students available to be sponsored. If you would like to learn more, then please visit the Sponsorship Page.
