The Global Effect Internship Program

Global Effect is looking for young adult interns to join our staff in the Dominican Republic for 4-8 weeks during the summer.

General Information:

Interns are an integral part of our Global Effect team as we host church groups and accomplish short-term projects. The internship will be in La Vega, Dominican Republic and surrounding communities. Internship opportunities will be open from June - July. Interns can serve for a minimum of 4 weeks and up to a maximum of 8 weeks. The cost of the internship is $1,500 for 4 weeks and $2,000 for 8 weeks. This includes lodging, food, in-country transportation, translators, emergency insurance, and project cost while in the Dominican Republic. 

Interns will:

• Assist short-term teams that will be visiting during the summer.
• Work with local churches in 5-6 communities to create, plan, and implement sustainable youth and children outreach initiatives.
• Participate in water filter data collection in communities that have previously received distributions.
• Interns with experience in digital storytelling, photography and/or video will help to capture, edit, and output 6-10 specific impact stories for Global Effect.

Requirements:

Applicants are required to be a devoted Christian's who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that the Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God. Short-term missions experience is required and international missions experience is preferred. Local ministry experience within their community, church, or school is necessary. Applicants should be selfless, ministry minded, hardworking, energetic, reliable, and flexible, enjoy working with people, and need to be a team player. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and be available for a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks and up to 8 weeks during the Summer.
